Gray silty (aleuritic) clays, sandy. Thickness up to 230 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Daudan Fm

Upper contact

Conformably overlain by the Turtkul Fm of the Lower Miocene.

Regional extent

Lower reaches of the Amu Darya River (Turtkul-Khivinsky district). Correlated with the upper part of the Lower Kungarad sub-suite and the Upper Kungarad sub-suite.

Fossils

Contains a complex of foraminifera zones: 1) Spiropletammina carinata; 2) S. terekensis; 3) Prosononion dendriticus; marine bivalve mollusks - Nucula compta Goldf., Glossus ustjurtensis Iljina, Thyasira obtusa Veug. and others.


Age 

The lower zone belongs to the Lower Oligocene (in Strat. vol. (444) - to the Lower Middle Oligocene), the middle - to the Upper Oligocene, the upper - to the Lower Miocene.
